Fried Turkey Sticks

Strips of turkey, coated with egg and ground walnuts, then fried until golden brown--a quick snack or simple lunch.
 

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless turkey breast, cut into 1 inch strips
  • 1 1/2 cups ground walnuts
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 2 teaspoon ground onion powder
  • 1/2 cup oil for frying

Method

Season turkey with black pepper, red pepper, and onion powder. Combine egg and egg whites in a bowl. Dip turkey into egg mixture, then into walnuts, coating evenly. Fry turkey on medium heat until gloden brown, 4-5 minutes per side. When removing turkey, handle with care, and place on a paper towels to drain.

 

Notes: You can use any part of turkey. It can be breast, leg meat, etc. As long as it is boneless turkey. It tastes good cold the next day, too.
